Our consumers have come to know our name, DEL MONTE not just as a mere label but as a guarantee of high quality and great value.  Because the DEL MONTE trademarks are so important in communicating to customers the high standards of excellence and quality associated with DEL MONTE products, it is important that the trademarks be used properly and within bounds.

Pursuant to license agreements and other relevant agreements, Del Monte Philippines, Inc.’s ("DMPI") rights to the DEL MONTE trademarks are limited only for prepared food and beverage products within the Philippines.

Other companies and entities, including those not related to DMPI, have exclusive rights to the DEL MONTE trademarks in other parts of the world. Consequently, DEL MONTE branded products manufactured and produced by or for DMPI are not for sale, distribution or shipment outside the Philippines, except only if DMPI sold these to other DEL MONTE trademark rights owners or licensees.

Any unauthorized export or sale of DMPI’s DEL MONTE branded products is contrary to these license and other agreements and DMPI’s values and ethical principles as an organization.

Since DMPI’s DEL MONTE branded products are intended for the Philippine market and such products are cleared with the relevant government agencies in such market only, the unauthorized diversion of such products outside the Philippines might result in those products not meeting certain other countries' specific requirements which differ from the requirements in the Philippines. The unauthorized sale of DMPI’s DEL MONTE branded products outside the Philippines exposes DMPI to official actions by government agencies, including imposition of sanctions, and may adversely affect DMPI’s reputation and standing as the manufacturer of those products.

DMPI and the Del Monte Pacific Group of companies to which DMPI belongs have been taking various measures against the parallel shipment of its DEL MONTE branded products including, but not limited to issuing periodic reminders to distributors and customers regarding the territorial restrictions on the unauthorized export and sale of DEL MONTE branded products.
